Let your percieved weakness be your greatest strength

Once upon a time there was a man who had lost his left hand due to an accident. From his childhood he had a dream to learn and practice martial arts. We went to a number of teachers, but they turned him away on the pretext that he is severely disabled. Then finally a very old and an vastly experienced teacher agreed to coach him.

The teacher taught him only a single move. The man was dissapointed. One day the man's teacher called him and said "I would like you to participate in martial arts championship." The man was puzzled because in order to join the championship he needs to know a lot of attacking and defensive moves but he knew only one move. Anyway, keeping faith on his teacher he decided to join the championship.

The championship started and the man progressed to higher rounds and finally won the highest level of the championship. The man was puzzled and asked the teacher what was his strength that won him the championship. The teacher replied that he taught him (the man) a move where the opponent needs to defend himself by catching the man's left hand. But since the man has lost his left hand, the opponent couldnot defend himself and the man won the championship quite easily.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Let your percieved weakness be your greatest strength

Submitting documents to credential evaluation firms in USA, UK and Canada

Countries like USA, UK and Canada need a credential evaluation of your degrees/diplomas for study or work purpose in the respective countries. There are registered credential evaluation firms, in these countries, that process your documents and come up with an evaluation of your qualification for a small fee. With requests coming from all quarters, I am outlining the steps to submit your documents to credential evaluation firms.

1) Photocopy of your final degree/diploma certificate.
2) Original sealed transcripts/marksheets from DOEACC of all your examinations/semesters. [For NARIC-
UK you need photocopies only]. Write to DOEACC for sealed transcripts/marksheets.
3) Goto the respective site, register and pay online.
4) Get the printout of the registration and payment slips.
5) Mail the documents outlined in steps 1, 2 and 4 to the address mentioned in the site.

For any clarifications please write to me at pal.tirtha@gmail.com. I would be happy to help.

DOEACC Students/Alumni - Beware of rumours

I would like to warn you guys about some unscrupulous persons in various forum who are spreading rumours that there are some companies that are not taking DOEACC B-Level qualifiers for jobs. It is blatant lie and deliberate misinformation. One of the companies, Cognizant Technologies [within top 10 Software Companies] against whom there were complains has confirmed that they have no problems with B-Level. I was present in the walkin and there were no problems with DOEACC B-Level qualifications. I would earnestly request all students and alumni to refrain from reading or commenting on such false posts in various forums.

This is more to do with personal failure at the interview process rather than any company policy.

Answers for HR Interview for DOEACC qualified candidates

Concern raised by a fellow Doeaccian: I have been humiliated so many times in big companies. one HR from NIIT said me that DOEACC B level is not at all recognized by the company. passing DOEACC B Level after 10 + 2 is just like having no graduation!!! I have been rejected by many other big organizations because they say DOEACC courses are correspondence. once a BIG company gave me the chance to appear for the interview then the Interviewer just insulted me by saying company has degraded their standard in picking up the candidates. what worst you can expect ? doesn't matter how tough the doeacc b level is, doesn't matter if it is recognized by the highest educational authorities in India...all matters is a regular graduation!

Answer: Since these are the familiar issues some fellow doeaccians might face, I have attempted to provide a solution to these issues. Let us break up the concern in parts:

(i) Why NIIT doesnot recognize DOEACC B-Level? Is there any written document/proof from NIIT? B-Level after 10+2 is Integrated MCA, equivalent to Post Graduate. Therefore not having graduation is not the problem. This is recognized by MHRD, IITs, ISI, IIMs, IIITs. Is NIITs judgement on academic qualifications better than the IITs, IIMs and ISI? Please ask the HR these questions and demand documentary evidence. Ask the HR to give you in writing that they donot accept these courses. Remember, an organization is legally bound to answer these questions.

(ii) DOEACC is not a correspondence course. It is either a full time course or it is for working professionals. Please demand (politely) documentary evidence when HR/Company representative says as such.

Please donot accept HRs words at face value and come back from interview. All relevant recognition documents have been uploaded in this site. Make use of them.
